Awareness programme on Drug abuse, Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K week held

RAMBAN, Sept 9: Social Welfare Department Ramban, in collaboration with Education and Information department today organized a day-long awareness programme on drug abuse and Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K Week in the Conference Hall, Maitra.
The theme of the programme was ‘Celebration of Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K week and Discussion on SC and ST prevention of Atrocities Act 1989’.
The program was attended by Dy. District Election Officer, Lal Chand, Chief Education Officer, Dev Anand, District Social Welfare Officer, Rahul Gupta and other senior officers besides Teachers, school childrens.
Second-in- Command SSB, Parag Chaturvedi was the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dy. Commandant emphasized the importance of creating awareness and spreading knowledge among the masses about prevention of drug abuse and sustainable livelihood. He appreciated collaborating departments’ for holding the awareness program as the experience gained by the participants will help them to work more effectively in curbing the menace in the district. He showed a motivational film and used Power Point Presentation to explain the extent of damage this menace causes to the society.
He also spoke on physical and psychological signs of early detection, steps to prevent drug misuse in children and teenagers, types of drug abuse and rehabilitation of addicts.
The speakers and experts delved into various dimensions of the drug menace, providing valuable insights into its psychological and clinical aspects.
The DSWO emphasised the importance of raising awareness and spreading knowledge on these topics to prevent drug abuse. He also praised the efforts of collaborating departments and expressed his hope that such training sessions would help to curb the menace more effectively.
He informed the students about the website [email protected] on which users can lodge their grievances and complaints online related to corruption.
Students from different schools presented Cultural programmes, Skits and other activities during the programme on Bhrashtachar Mukht.
At the end of the programme, all participants took a pledge to stay away from drugs and to curb drug abuse in his locality.
