NSS unit of Govt Degree College Jourian hosts series of anti-corruption events

JAMMU, Sept 11: The NSS (National Service Scheme) unit of Government Degree College Jourian, in collaboration with various committees and organizations, organized a series of events under the banner "Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K" (Corruption-Free Jammu and Kashmir). These events were conducted as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Shikshit Bharat, and G20 initiatives. The collaborative efforts involved the IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell), Activity and Cultural Affairs Committee, Eco, and Health committees.
The series of events aimed to raise awareness about the importance of a corruption-free society and promote a sense of responsibility among students. Here is a brief overview of the events:
Pledge Ceremony (05.09.2023): The series began with a solemn Pledge on Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K, where students and staff reaffirmed their commitment to combating corruption.
Slogan Writing Competition (06.09.2023): A creative competition was held for students to express their thoughts on a corruption-free Jammu and Kashmir through slogans.
Poster Making Competition (08.09.2023): Students showcased their artistic talents by creating posters that conveyed powerful messages against corruption.
Reel Making Competition (09.09.2023): A film-making event allowed participants to use the visual medium to address the issue of corruption and inspire positive change.
Signature Campaign (11.09.2023): The campaign aimed to gather support from the entire college community, including staff members, by collecting signatures to endorse the cause of a corruption-free society.
The participation of a large number of students in these events demonstrated their commitment to the fight against corruption.
Dr. Anuradha Pandoh, the Principal of the college, commended the students for their active involvement in co-curricular activities alongside their academic pursuits. She emphasized the importance of holistic development and encouraged students to continue participating in such initiatives.
The successful execution of the program was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Rimjhim Gupta (Convener of Activities and Cultural Affairs Committee) and Dr. Vandana Rajput (NSS Programme Officer). Additionally, Dr. Rakesh Bharti (Convener of IQAC), Dr. Rimjhim Gupta (Convener of Activities and Cultural Affairs Committee), Dr. Vandana Rajput (NSS Programme Officer), Rakshit Sharma, and Sham Lal played pivotal roles in the program's coordination.
The events were not only educational but also inspirational, motivating the college community to take an active role in building a corruption-free Jammu and Kashmir.
