GDC Ramgarh organizes symposium on 'Truth & Non-violence'

RAMGARH, Sept 15: As part of the ongoing celebrations for Gandhi Jayanti 2023, Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh organized a symposium centered on the theme of 'Truth and Non-violence' on September 15, 2023. This event took place under the banner of India's presidency in the G20 and the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. The initiative was executed seamlessly under the able guidance and coordination of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the esteemed Principal of the college.
Prof. Risha Kumari, the Convener of the event, provided valuable insights into the historical context of Truth and Non-Violence during the freedom struggle. She urged the students to embrace these timeless principles in their lives, recognizing their enduring significance.
Dr. Sandeep Kumar, in his address, encouraged the students to delve deeper into the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. He emphasized the importance of fostering a society that values every individual, regardless of their caste, color, culture, or creed.
Dr. Shivali Choudhary, from the Department of Political Science, underscored the urgency of revitalizing Mahatma Gandhi's ideas. She motivated the students to experiment with truth and harness its transformative power to build a prosperous nation and a more united world.
Dr. Paramjeet Kour, from the Department of Education, provided participants with comprehensive information about the guidelines and theme of the competition. She wholeheartedly encouraged students to actively engage in such activities.
A total of 12 students enthusiastically participated in the competition, each contributing their unique perspective on Truth and Non-violence. The results of the competition were as follows:
First prize: Vishali Choudhary
Second position: Chahat Sapolia
Third prize: Prinka Devi
The event garnered the support and presence of several distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Shamsher Lal, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Dr. Paramjeet Kour, Dr. Priya Sharma, and Dr. Sunil Kumar. Their presence added depth and significance to the symposium.
