GDC Darhal student secures third position in district-level Inter College Declamation Contest

DARHAL, Sept 27: In commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti, students from Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal participated in the 'Inter College Declamation Contest' held at Government P.G. College Rajouri on September 26, 2023. The event aimed to propagate the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, with a focus on truth and non-violence, under the theme "Truth and Non-Violence: Gandhian Approach to Life." The contest witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges across District Rajouri.
In a remarkable achievement, Shariq Ali Bin Ghulam, a student in the 5th semester of B.A., secured the prestigious 3rd position in the competition. His success not only reflects his dedication but also brings pride to the faculty and fellow students of GDC Darhal. The college administration congratulated and encouraged Mr. Shariq Ali Bin Ghulam to continue participating in such intellectually stimulating activities in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal of GDC Darhal, emphasized the enduring relevance of Gandhiji's ideology of truth and non-violence in today's world. He commended the faculty for their efforts in motivating students to participate in events that promote Gandhi's principles. Prof. Shah stressed the urgent need to embrace Mahatma Gandhi's ideals, particularly in promoting and spreading the concepts of truth and non-violence. He highlighted the importance of Gandhian philosophy in fostering peaceful coexistence, especially in the face of growing alienation and animosity among people and nations worldwide.
The participation of GDC Darhal students in the Inter College Declamation Contest and Mr. Shariq Ali Bin Ghulam's notable achievement underscores the college's commitment to instilling the values and wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi in the minds of the youth, with the aim of fostering a more harmonious and non-violent society.
