JAMMU, Jan 22: A Jammu University employee was found hanging from a tree near the Mathematics Department on the campus on Thursday, triggering concern among staff and students.
The deceased has been identified as Balwan Singh, 57, a resident of Hiranagar, who was posted as a Section Officer (SO) in the MBA Department. He was presently residing in the university staff quarters.
Officials said a team from Police Post Nehru Market reached the spot after receiving information and shifted him to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The body has been shifted to the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination, while police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. |
