Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 29: Twenty days after serving show cause notice to senior BJP leader and former MLC Sofi Yousuf, BJP on Friday served show cause notices to eight more rebel leaders who were part of August 11 event.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Disciplinary committee issued notices to 8 party rebels in Kashmir.
The notices have been issued from party headquarters to GM Mir, Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir, Altaf Thakur, Asif Masoodi, Arif Raja, Anwar Khan, Manzoor Bhat and Bilal Parray.
“While holding an inquiry of indiscipline against Sh. Sofi Yusuf Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party, it came to notice to the Disciplinary Committee that there are serious allegations and proof of indiscipline against each of you for indulging in activities prejudicial to maintenance of discipline in the party. By your activities a sense of mistrust have been created in party leadership”, the show cause notice reads.
Keeping in view your position in the party and your past contributions Disciplinary Committee has decided to give you one opportunity to submit your unconditional apology for your conduct and not to repeat in future in any such activity failing which Disciplinary Committee will initiate regular proceedings against you and which may lead to your removal for official positions and even from Primary Membership of Bharatiya Janata Party in case allegations of indiscipline is established. Should you choose to give unconditional apology and undertaking for the future the same may be sent to the party President within one week from today. Notice is being served through WhatsApp and there will be no separate service of notice
BJP disciplinary committee consists of Sunil Sethi as the Chairman along with Aseem Gupta and Rekha Mahajan as the members of the committee.
As reported in its September 16 edition, it was reported that Sofi Yousuf BJP leadership is likely to take against some more leaders who had raised a banner of revolt.
Notwithstanding efforts of some leaders to protect the rebels, party leadership has taken very serious note of August 11 development when many senior leaders of the party had indirectly threatened the leadership by threatening mass resignations", sources said and added that as a first step the party has served notice to Sofi Yousuf to give a message to rebels.
The party leadership, sources said, has termed August 11 episode as an glaring example of indiscipline and black mail tactics.
As reported earlier the BJP on September 11issued a show cause notice to the veteran leader and ex-MLA Sofi Yosuf.
The party’s face in Kashmir Valley, Sofi Yosuf was leading the group of party leaders who raised a banner of revolt on August 11 prompting the party to sack three leaders from their positions on the very next day.
The show-cause notice was isued by the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee Sunil Sethi.
“Despite being the senior leader of the party and now occupying a very senior position, it has come to the notice of the Disciplinary Committee of Jammu Kashmir Bhartiya Janata Party, unfortunately, that you are indulging in anti-party activities and showing marked indiscipline in your political dealings”, the show cause notice reads.
“You have tried to create dissent in the party cadre with few more persons and now your audio recording clip has surfaced whose contents depict that you have no regard for party discipline and high principles which are the basis of the political ideology of the party. Audio clips are being sent to you with this”, the notice further mentioned.
In the show cause, Sofi Yosuf was directed to submit his reply of misconduct and indiscipline to the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee within seven days. He was also directed not to interact with the media directly or indirectly on any issue.
