Jourian hosts inspiring 'Gandhi Jayanti celebrations

JOURIAN, Oct 3: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Degree College Jourian recently organized a series of enlightening events under the banner of "Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations." These celebrations, conducted as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NashaMuktBharat Abhiyaan, Shikshit Bharat, and G20 initiatives, were held in collaboration with the Activity and Cultural Affairs Committee. The students of the college actively participated in a diverse range of activities to commemorate the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
Students of Government Degree College Jourian initiated the celebrations with a rally where they carried placards with messages centered around the theme of 'Truth and Non-Violence.'
The college's creative minds showcased their talent by creating a reel that focused on the principles of "Truth and Non-Violence."
Thought-provoking discussions took place as students engaged in a symposium centered on the core principles of 'Truth and Non-Violence.'
Students expressed their thoughts and creativity by participating in a slogan-writing event centered on the themes of truth and non-violence.
The literary talents of the students were showcased through poetry recitations that highlighted the values championed by Mahatma Gandhi.
In the spirit of Gandhi Jayanti, students undertook a cleanliness drive within the college campus, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and hygiene.
Students engaged in a book reading session where they delved into Mahatma Gandhi's "My Experiments with Truth."
A visit to a public park in Jourian was organized to promote the Swachhta Abhiyan and raise awareness about cleanliness.
Students showcased their musical talents by performing soulful songs as part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebration.
A thoughtful group discussion revolved around Gandhiji's significant contributions to Indian education.
A lively street play was performed by the students, conveying messages related to cleanliness and hygiene.
A pledge emphasizing cleanliness and hygiene was taken by the students, reaffirming their commitment to a cleaner nation. Continuing their commitment to cleanliness, students conducted another cleanliness drive on the college campus under the 'Swacchta Hi Sewa Hai' initiative.
To pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, students offered floral tributes and took a pledge against non-violence and substance abuse.
These remarkable events were conducted under the capable supervision of Dr. Rimjhim Gupta (Convener of the Activities and Cultural Affairs Committee) and Dr. Vandana Rajput (NSS Programme Officer). Dr. Anuradha Pandoh, Principal of Government Degree College Jourian, commended the students for their active participation in co-curricular activities, emphasizing the importance of such endeavors alongside academic pursuits.
