Azad, Bukhari, Sajad, Lal Singh “untouchables” for Gupkar Alliance
10/3/2023 11:07:15 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 3: The Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) considered Ghulam Nabi Azad, Altaf Bukhari, Sajad Gani Lone, and Choudhary Lal Singh as “untouchables”.
Instead of inviting these leaders to the much-publicized all-party meeting, the leadership of PAGD called some irrelevant forces just to increase their number.
Convenor of the Gupkar Alliance and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah minced no words in attacking veteran politician Ghulam Nabi Azad, and founder of the J&K Apni Party, and former minister Altaf Bukhari.
Dr. Abdullah dubbed the political parties of Azad and Bukhari as outfits of government.
Ghulam Nabi Azad had formed the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) on September 26, 2022 and Altaf Bukhari is the founder of the J&K Apni Party.
During the last All-Party Meeting held on August 22, 2022, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Conference and Apni Party led by Altaf Bukhari stayed away from the opposition’s meeting.
Apart from constituents of the Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), representatives from Congress, Janta Dal (United) Shiv Sena, Akali Dal, and chairman of the Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Choudhary Lal Singh attended the meeting held on August 22, 2022.
While Today’s meeting was attended by representatives of the Panthers Party Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Choudhary Lal Singh was absent because he was not invited to the meeting due to opposition by some Kashmir-centric parties.
