Police arrest four hardcore criminals for attack on police, NCB

SAMBA, Oct 7: Samba Police, under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Benam Tosh, have apprehended four hardcore criminals in connection with an attack on Police and NCB teams in Sarore Bari Brahmana. During the incident, two police officials and two NCB Sleuths sustained severe injuries.
The arrested individuals have been identified as follows:
Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Bashir, resident of Rakh Barothian, Vijaypur district Samba
Farooq Ahmed, son of Saraj Din, resident of Agra Chak, tehsil RS Pura district Jammu
Mohd Rashid alias Shida, son of Sadiq Hussain, resident of Chak Manga, tehsil and district Samba
Bashir Ahmed, son of Mareed, resident of Debri Dabar, tehsil Bishnah district Jammu
The incident occurred during a raid by the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) team, assisted by the Bari Brahmana Police team, at the residence of a notorious heroin smuggler, Mushtaq Ali alias Kaka, in the infamous heroin hotspot Sarore, within the jurisdiction of Police Station Bari Brahmana. A group of heroin smugglers attacked the Police and NCB teams during the operation, resulting in severe injuries to four officials, including the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana, the PSO of SDPO Bari Brahmana, and two NCB sleuths.
A case under FIR No.238/2023, including sections 307 (attempt to murder), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting, armed with a deadly weapon), 506 (criminal intimidation) IPC, and 4/25 Arms Act, has been registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana, and the investigation is underway.
The apprehension of these hardcore criminals was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the police team, including SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma, PSI Mohd Aslam, PSI Nirmal Singh, and PSI Vineet Rukwal, under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh assured that the police are conducting raids at different suspected hideouts, and all those responsible for attacking the Police will be apprehended and brought to justice promptly.
