| Focus only on Lok Sabha polls: BJP high command to J&K leaders | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 7: Even as opposition parties are desperate for all sorts of elections, BJP highcommand has asked local unit to focus only on the coming Lok Sabha elections to increase party’s tally.
Highly placed sources said that during recent meeting at New Delhi in which all senior leaders from J&K were called top leadership of the party asked them to concentrate only on the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Sources said that when some of the local leaders sought information regarding the Urban Local Bodies, Panchayat and Assembly elections in J&K, national leadership asked them that first priority of the party is Lok Sabha elections.
Although central leadership has not directly ruled out ULBs, Panchayats and Assembly elections in J&K, local leadership was asked to ensure victory in the maximum Lok Sabha.
As reported earlier, central leadership of BJP has asked J&K BJP leaders to start preparations for the coming Parliamentary elections to win at least three Lok Sabha seats from the Union Territory.
Central leadership has set a target of winning three out of a total of five Lok Sabha seats from Jammu and Kashmir to improve its tall of the 2019 Parliamentary elections.
Sources said that party leadership is mulling over the idea of fielding a strong Poonch-Rajouri-based leader on Anantnag seats to win this Parliamentary constituency to create history. |
