RAMGARH, Oct 7: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) unit 'Prabha' of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh joined forces with Civil Defence/SDRF Samba to organize a one-day Awareness Programme focused on Anti-Corruption and Disaster Management. The event, held under the supervision and guidance of Prof (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the Principal of the college, aimed to empower students with knowledge and skills to promote a corruption-free society and enhance their preparedness for emergencies.
Dr. Aditi Khajuria, the Convener of IQAC, extended a warm welcome to the team from SDRF Samba, including Sub Inspector Jeet Singh, the Incharge team of SDRF Samba, and Instructor Jyoti Parkash from Civil Defence/SDRF Samba. Dr. Khajuria highlighted the significance of such awareness programs, emphasizing their role in educating students about the importance of a corruption-free society and responsible citizenship, as well as enhancing their readiness for emergencies.
The one-day program was expertly coordinated by Dy. SP Nasreen Akhter, Deputy Controller of Civil Defence Samba, with the active participation of Sub Inspector Jeet Singh from SDRF Samba. The highlight of the event was the informative session delivered by Jyoti Parkash, an Instructor from Civil Defence SDRF Samba. He shared valuable insights on Anti-Corruption measures and demonstrated essential First-Aid techniques for emergencies, such as managing fractures, administering CPR, and dealing with burn injuries. Additionally, Parkash educated the students on Disaster Management, particularly in the context of fires in public places, homes, and fields.
In her concluding remarks, Prof. Geetanjali Andotra, the Principal of GDC Ramgarh, underscored the importance of such awareness programs organized by Civil Defence/SDRF. Prof. Andotra also praised the efforts of Civil Defence/SDRF Samba for their dedication to organizing events that benefit the younger generation.
