J&K unites in patriotism under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign: Ritika Trehan

Jammu, Oct 13: Chief Spokesperson BJP Mahila Morcha J&KUT Ritika Trehan along with others today as part of the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ program, designed to honour martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the nation visited the martyr’s residence and collected soil from the premises. This soil will be sent to the National Capital.
Speaking on the occasion, Ritika highlighted the duty of every citizen to honour the sacrifices of martyrs. She believes that active participation in the nationwide ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign is the most fitting tribute to these heroes. She said MMMD campaign, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, involves collecting soil from the homes, surroundings, statues, and memorials of martyrs at various locations across the nation, including Jammu & Kashmir.
This soil will contribute to the creation of ‘Amrit Vatika’ in front of Rashtrapati Bhawan on ‘Kartavya Path’ (formerly known as Rajpath).
Ritika stressed that these initiatives, under the slogan “Mitti Ko Naman, Veeron Ka Vandan,” aim to celebrate 77 years of Indian Independence. Kalash Yatras, transporting soil in 7500 urns, including those collected from Jammu and Kashmir, will ultimately reach Delhi to merge with the soil at ‘Amrit Vatika.’She urged the people of the nation to join the campaign and pay tribute to the ultimate sacrifices made by the Military, Para, Police, and other forces in the service of the nation and its people.
Ritika spoke of India’s emergence as a global leader under Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership, extending its influence in resolving conflicts, fighting global challenges, and strengthening democratic values.She emphasized the world’s growing confidence in India’s capabilities, stemming from the ethos of ‘Vasudeva Kutumbakam’. She underscored the country’s contributions to global welfare, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. She highlighted the Government’s commitment to inclusive development, economic reforms, and welfare of every citizen. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Mandal Pradhan Bharat Bhushan, Mandal Secy Narinder Kuki, Ward 20 Councillor Rahul Kumar, Mandal Additional Secy Rachit Khosla, Ward 20 President Satbir Singh, District Executive member Sandeep Gupta and other BJP members.
