RAJOURI, Oct 18: In a remarkable celebration of Sir Syed Day, Government P G College Rajouri hosted a grand event to honor the legacy and contributions of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Chaired by Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad, the Principal of the college and an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), the event was a collaborative effort between the college's Alig alumni serving as faculty members and the Literary and Cultural Committee.
The event kicked off with a documentary presentation on the life and achievements of Sir Syed, skillfully delivered by Dr. Ashiq Hussain. The documentary shed light on Sir Syed's visionary approach, his educational reforms, and his pivotal role in shaping modern India.
Professor Asadullah Khan extended a warm welcome to all the guests and attendees, emphasizing the significance of the day. Dr. Mohd Saleem Wani, Professor Ashiq Malik, and Dr. Abdul Haq Naimi delivered enlightening speeches, underscoring the enduring relevance of Sir Syed's teachings in today's context. Other esteemed speakers also shared their insights on Sir Syed's profound contributions to education and social reform. The highlight of the event was the thought-provoking presidential address by Principal Dr. Shamim Azad, who stressed the necessity for educational reforms and encouraged students to follow in the footsteps of Sir Syed, who believed that education was the key to empowerment and progress. Professor Iqbal Raina, the convenor of the Literary Committee, conducted the program's proceedings and provided valuable insights into various aspects of Sir Syed's vision and approach. Dr. Ghulam Abbas, from the Department of Persian, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the event a resounding success.
The event drew a packed audience, consisting of faculty members and students from various semesters of graduation and post-graduation. Their enthusiastic participation and engagement reflected the admiration and respect they hold for Sir Syed's vision and legacy.
