10/27/2023 10:20:54 PM
Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Oct 27: Rizwan Uddin, the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, spearheaded an "Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0" awareness and outreach program at Himalayan Degree College, Rajouri. The event aimed to emphasize the importance of enrolling all eligible employees as members of the Provident Fund and Pension Scheme. Representatives of both employers and employees were encouraged to openly express their concerns and issues during the session.
Simultaneously, "Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0" programs were also organized at G. D. Goenka Public School, Baramulla, and Siddhartha High School, Choskor, Leh on October 27, 2023.
Rizwan Uddin, during the session, shed light on the significance of social security in the present scenario. He provided insights into the key features of the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995, and the Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976, which have been extended to workers in J&K and Ladakh since November 2019.
The workshop extended for more than one hour, where P. F. Commissioner Rizwan Uddin addressed issues faced by establishments and employees. An interactive session followed for another hour, where various stakeholders learned how to handle their problems and issues related to the implementation of the EPF & MP Act, 1952. Topics covered included member enrollment, UAN activation, bank and Aadhaar seeding, online claim filing, e-nominations filing, e-sign, and ECR filing. Additionally, any other relevant issues related to EPFO were discussed based on the desires of officers and stakeholders.
In the opening session, Commissioner Rizwan highlighted the need to enroll a significant number of employees under the Provident Fund and Pension Fund. He cited examples of recent accidents in J&K, where employees and employers had remitted only one month's contribution, leaving the employees' families in a precarious situation. He emphasized that eligible dependents of deceased employees are entitled to a monthly pension of rupees four thousand five hundred, along with the amount entitled under the Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976. Employers appreciated the efforts made by the P. F. Commissioner and his team, with one employer acknowledging that they had not been previously informed about these benefits.
P.F. Commissioner expressed his gratitude to Chairman of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri, Md. Muslim Wani, for the successful organization of the "Nidhi Apke Nikat 2.0" event. Dignitaries present at the program included Md. Ishaq, Registrar of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Md. Azam Shah, Retired Head Master, and Maulana Lal Uddin.
The "Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0" program continues to educate and inform stakeholders about the services and benefits of social security, including the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995, and the enhanced quantum (up to Rupees Seven Lakhs) of the Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976, which are available to employees in the Union Territory of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
"Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0" programs for the month of October 2023 were also held at Himalayan Education Mission College, Thandi Kassi, Rajouri, and at the Conference Hall of GD Goenka Public School, Baramulla, with the participation of representatives from establishments and employees.
