GDC Ramgarh celebrates J&K UT Foundation Day

RAMGARH, Oct 28: Government Degree College Ramgarh concluded a series of activities celebrating Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT) Foundation Day with a grand valedictory and prize distribution ceremony. The event was organized under the guidance and coordination of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College, and was graced by the presence of Abhimanyu Kalsotra (KAS), Tehsildar Ramgarh, as the chief guest.
Abhimanyu Kalsotra (KAS), in his address, highlighted the significance of J&K UT Foundation Day, emphasizing the positive changes that have occurred in Jammu and Kashmir since it became a Union Territory. He applauded the heightened pace of developmental activities in the region and cited achievements in the education sector, such as the introduction of smart classrooms, improved laboratory facilities, playground and library developments, and various infrastructural enhancements. Kalsotra engaged in an interactive session with the college students, motivating them to make informed career choices based on their educational and professional aspirations. He stressed the importance of assessing one's knowledge, skills, information, and experiences to identify suitable career options.
Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, the Principal of the college, recognized the significant strides made in the UT's development, pointing out that these achievements have been realized with remarkable progress. She highlighted the abundant opportunities now accessible to the people of J&K, thanks to the region's rich resources. She encouraged every citizen to participate in events and celebrations with enthusiasm and zeal.
The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Prof. Risha Kumari.
As part of the J&K UT Foundation Day celebrations, winners of the Intra-College Competitions, including Photography, Videography, Painting, and Essay Writing, were felicitated for their outstanding contributions.
The event witnessed the presence of numerous faculty members and a large number of students, coming together to commemorate the occasion and celebrate the achievements and future potential of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
