Dogra Degree college organize pre Diwali celebration

Bari Brahmana, Samba, Nov 10: To mark the Diwali celebrations, Dogra Degree College organised various competitions such as cooking without fire, class décor and creative card making. The programme was organized on the eve of Pre-Diwali celebration. The chief guest of the function was Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College. She appreciated the spirit of the staff and the students for celebrating such events which communicate the message of brotherhood, togetherness and festivity among the people and the society.
She also appreciated the efforts of cultural committee of Dogra Degree College. Who took it as an initiative to organize such a wonderful event to celebrate such festivals like Diwali which is the symbol of victory of good over evil.
The programme started with the cooking without fire competition wherein the students from various department of the college participated and presented their talent of cooking, taste and flavors. The judges for this competitions were Ms Tina Sharma and Mr Ravinder Kumar.
The first prize in cooking without fire was bagged by Manjot Kour and Siya of BBA 3rd Semester and the second prize won by Daksha and Harmeet of B.Com 3rd Semster and the third prize bagged by Chiranjeev Singh of BA 5th Sem. The next event was creative handmade card making competition.
The judge for the competition was Aditi Khajuria. The winners for this competiton were Muskan Devi (1st Prize) of BBA 3rd Sem, Gracy (2nd Prize) of BBA 3rd Sem and Javida (3rd Prize) of BBA 3rd Sem. The next event was of class décor and the judges for this event were Mr Balwant Singh, Ms Palak Gupta and Ms Kirti Sharma. The winners were BA 5th Sem (1st Prize), B.Com 5th Sem (2nd Prize) and the third prize was won by BBA 3rd Sem.
All the students of the Dogra Degree College participant in the event with the great enthusiasm and the festive fervor. All the students came in their traditional dresses and ethnic wears. The whole programme was organised and coordinated under the supervision of Ms Amanpreet Kaur, Convener Cultural Committee, Ms Shivani Mengi Member Cultural Committee Dogra Degree College.
