Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 11: In a remarkable display of creativity and determination, a group of talented children successfully constructed a fort (killa) at Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. The young architects behind this achievement include Naitik Vadhwana, Darsh Jain, Himesh Choudhary, Atharva Glosalkar, Arya Mogidra, Shravan Devadiga, Rajvi Vadhwana, Darsh Chapada, Maahi Waghela, Kanisha Waghela, Tanish Gohil, Dhruvansh Gohil, Agastya Kamble, Manas Godbole, and Jeet Sandhu.
Under the guidance and suggestions of their respective grandfathers - Mansukhlal Vadhwana, Subhash Redasani, Deeparam Choudhary, Vasudev Ghosalkar, Bharat Mogidra, Saaba Devadiga, Vasant Chopada, Chandu Waghela, Durlabh Gohil, Balu Kamble, Mukund Godbole, and Gurudev Sandhu - these young minds successfully constructed a formidable structure reminiscent of the historic Sindhudurg Fort. Sindhudurg Fort Overview: Sindhudurg Fort, built by the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the 17th century, stands as a symbol of historical significance in the Konkan region. It was strategically constructed on an island to counter foreign influence and safeguard against rising powers like the Siddhis of Janjira. Spread over 48 acres, the fort features a two-mile-long rampart with walls measuring 30 feet in height and 12 feet in thickness. The young builders aimed not only to recreate the architectural marvel but also to pay homage to their cultural and historical roots. The fort project is a testament to their commitment to preserving heritage and embracing hands-on learning experiences.
This initiative highlights the importance of involving the younger generation in heritage conservation and fostering a connection with their cultural legacy. As these young minds engage in such constructive projects, they contribute to the preservation of historical monuments and traditions, ensuring that the legacy of the past continues to inspire the future.
The fort-building endeavor was not just a physical construction but a collective effort that symbolizes unity, creativity, and a shared commitment to honoring the rich history of Sindhudurg.
