Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 11: Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua illuminated with the spirit of Diwali, celebrating 'the festival of lights' with cultural richness and the transmission of values through traditions. The entire school, adorned in festive attire, resonated with Vedic chants, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere. The school grounds transformed into a picturesque setting with vibrant Rangolis, setting the stage for a grand celebration.
The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to special invitees, including P.L Thappa (Chief Education Officer Kathua), Sardar Karamjeet Singh, DEPO Kathua, Anuradha (SHO Women Police Station Kathua), and Rekha Kumari (Vice President Municipal Kathua and National Secretary BJP, Mahila Morcha). Mili R Sumbria (Principal, Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua) along with school coordinators greeted the esteemed guests.
The celebration unfolded with the traditional lighting of the lamp to invoke the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, followed by Ganesh Vandana. Students showcased their talents with dance performances, depicting episodes from the Ramayana, narrating the life of Lord Rama, his struggles, and his triumphant return to Ayodhya.
The festivities continued with graceful dances on Lord Rama, performances on the traditional Lakshmi pujan, and a powerful rendition of 'Jai Hanuman gyan gun sagar.' The age-old tradition of Lakshmi Vandana was observed, and students conveyed Diwali wishes through a joyous dance number.
To reinforce the teachings of Lord Rama, students recited Choupaiyan from the holy epic of Ramayana. A nukkad natak (street play) delivered a strong social message, urging everyone to celebrate a Green Diwali.
Special Invitee, P.L Thappa (CEO Kathua), praised the school for organizing religious celebrations and emphasized the importance of preserving values and traditions. Rekha Kumari (Vice President Municipal Kathua and National Secretary BJP, Mahila Morcha) appreciated the moral standards set by the school.
Anuradha (SHO Women Police Station Kathua), another Special Invitee, lauded the efforts of the teachers and congratulated the students for beautifully showcasing the pious culture and traditions.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Samriti Sharma (Coordinator of Primary Wing), expressing gratitude to all for their valuable presence and cooperation. Tokens of appreciation, along with saplings, were presented to the dignitaries.
The celebration at Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua not only marked Diwali but also echoed the school's commitment to instilling cultural values and traditions in the hearts of its students.
