IGP Jammu chairs meeting in Reasi; reviews crime, law & order situation

Reasi, Nov 16: Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone , Anand Jain,IPS reviewed the crime position and overall functioning of District Police Reasi with all supervisory officers including SHOs, investigating officers at DPL Reasi. The disposal of cases registered during the current year and previous pendency was reviewed, discussed and instructions issued.
IGP Jammu Zone i. Anand Jain,IPS was accompanied by DIG Udhmpur-Reasi Range Suleman Choudhary,IPS and was received by SSP Reasi Amit Gupta,IPS and his team of officers.
The IGP first inaugurated a Wet & Dry canteen, besides the Welfare Centre at DPL Reasi. This was followed by a crime review meeting of officers.
A threadbare discussion was held in the meeting on pending important under investigation cases (Police Station wise). While elaborating, it was mentioned that maintenance of law & order, prevention of crime, speedy investigation and disposal of cases, adequate attention to public grievances on day-to-day basis, special attention to public importance cases, strengthening Police-Public rapport are of utmost importance.
The main focus of the meeting was to improve the quality of investigation of NDPS Act and other cases.
Investigation of UAPA Act cases of Reasi was also discussed. Besides, action taken under the preventive section of law was also reviewed.
IGP while briefing the officers advised them for finalization of the pending cases/public complaints to give relief to the general public and directed I/Os for speedy disposal of cases assigned to them for conducting the investigation.
The Investigation officers were also directed for follow-up parvy of their cases charge sheeted in the court of law to ensure early conviction.
The supervisory officers were also directed to take feedback from SHOs/I/Os on supervisory notes issued in special reported cases on a regular basis to ensure strict compliance of the guidelines issued by them.
SSP Reasi Amit Gupta ,IPS gave an elaborate Power Point Presentation on the prevalent security scenario of district Reasi and over all position of the crime and its disposal.
Moreover, IGP Jammu Zone i. Anand Jain,IPS also interacted with the civil society members and emphasized the need for enhanced Police Public cooperation for providing better policing.
He said that the civil society has a major role to garner people’s coordination in the eradication of social crime, drug menace and other unlawful activities. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
While inaugurated wet canteen/dry canteen besides welfare Centre, IGP Jammu said that the facility was a dire requirement for the staff and would make available various food items at reasonable rates within the premises.
Such initiatives by the seniors would benefit the staff members and enhance their working capabilities. He added.
Later while en-route IGP Jammu i. Anand Jain,IPS visited Police Station Reasi.
He inspected the facilities made available for the Jawans/officers as also for the visiting citizens. He directed for further improvement in certain facilities of the Police Station.
