GDC Darhal shines a spotlight on mental health

JAMMU, Nov 21: The NSS Unit of Government Degree College Darhal took a proactive step towards promoting mental health awareness by organizing a seminar as part of the "Constitution Day" celebrations. Under the patronage of Prof. M.H. Shah, the Principal of Government Degree College Darhal, the event aimed to emphasize the vital connection between mental health and the principles enshrined in the Constitution.
Prof. M.H. Shah, while addressing the audience, stressed the importance of integrating positivity into attitudes to augment mental health. He shed light on the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, encouraging individuals to break the stigma surrounding mental health and seek help without hesitation. Prof. Shah emphasized that abiding by fundamental rights and duties is not only a remedy for mental health but also a step towards disciplined life, personality development, and nation-building.
Students and staff members actively participated in the seminar, sharing insights on various aspects of mental health and its role in fostering a healthy society and nation. The event provided a platform for a dynamic question-answer session, sparking in-depth discussions on the importance of mental well-being.

Dr. Mohd Akhlaq Malik, NSS Programme Officer of the College, introduced the audience to the program and efficiently conducted the proceedings. Dr. Imtiyaz Hussain Shah, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Urdu, delivered the formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and organizers.
The seminar witnessed the active involvement of a large number of students and staff members. Prominent figures present included Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi, Prof. Tahir Mahmood Qureshi, Dr. Mohd Riaz, Dr. Mehwish Bukhari, and Dr. Mukhtar Hussain, contributing to the richness of the discussions.
