Teams from nine Northern States & UTs participated in the league, organized by the Sports Authority of India under the Khelo India initiative of the Union Ministry of Sports.
The Technical Director of the League, Deepak Gupta, along with Sushma Avasthi and Yogesh K of the Sports Authority of India, graced the occasion. Dr. Andrabi awarded the winners and runners-up teams and individual players in different categories with medals and certificates.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Dr. Darakhshan highlighted the transformative impact of Prime Minister Modi's Khelo India mission on the Indian sports sector. The young sports stars from across the country are now showcasing their talent on the global stage, contributing to India's rising status in various sporting events.
Dr. Darakhshan also noted the significant improvement in the sports infrastructure throughout the country, creating world-class facilities for athletes. She commended the LG Administration for their efforts in establishing remarkable sports infrastructure and fostering a conducive sports environment in Jammu & Kashmir over the past few years.

Dr. Darakhshan urged against political myopia and emphasized that events like these showcase the reality of a peaceful Kashmir after the constitutional changes in 2019.
