Udhampur, Nov 26 : In a spirit of solemnity and reflection, Government Degree College (GDC) Neeli Nallah Udhampur marked Constitution Day with a series of meaningful activities aimed at fostering awareness and appreciation for the foundational principles of the Indian Constitution.
The event, held under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Hans Raj, the Principal of the college, included a pledge ceremony and an enlightening lecture on “Contributions of B.R. Ambedkar towards the framing of the Indian Constitution.”
The day commenced with Principal Hans Raj, the dedicated staff, and enthusiastic students offering a heartfelt floral tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. This symbolic gesture underscored the college’s reverence for the visionary leader’s indelible contributions.
Dr. Akhter Hussain took center stage, delivering an engaging lecture on the profound impact of B.R. Ambedkar on the shaping of the Indian Constitution. Dr. Akhter emphasized the pivotal role of the Constitution in kindling the flame of knowledge within successive generations. He articulated how, in today’s era, where the significance of democracy and civic responsibilities has faded, the Constitution serves as a beacon, guiding individuals back to their duties towards society and the nation.
Adding another layer to the commemoration, Dr. Sunil Tanoch shared valuable insights into the life of B.R. Ambedkar, shedding light on the challenges and triumphs of the stalwart who played a key role in the formulation of the Constitution.
A recurring theme throughout the event was the essential message embedded in the Constitution - a message of patience, unanimity, tolerance, and consensus.
Dr. Akhter Hussain highlighted how these principles are crucial in maintaining unity in diversity, serving as a timeless guide for citizens in an ever-changing world.
Dr. Akhter Hussain served as the Convenor of the programme, ensuring its seamless execution. The successful organization of the event was attributed to the collective efforts of Prof. Sunil Tanoch, Prof. Shaista Yasmeen, Dr. Mahima Bhagat, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Mir, and Miss Swati Sharma.
The event was attended by esteemed personalities, including Dr. Sunil Tanoch, Dr. Muntazir Bhat, Dr. Nishat, and Miss Neha Devi, who added their presence and insights to the occasion.
In conclusion, the Constitution Day celebration at GDC Neeli Nallah Udhampur was a poignant tribute to the foundational document that shapes the destiny of the nation.
