Samba police arrests hardcore heroin smuggler's wife for attack on police

SAMBA, Dec 2: In a significant development, the Samba Police has apprehended the wife of a notorious heroin smuggler, known as "Kala" of Rakh Barotian Vijaypur, for her involvement in the attack on the police near the infamous Chitta hotspot of Rakh Barotian in April this year.
The incident occurred on 06.04.2023 when a police party from Police Station Vijaypur, on duty near Rakh Barotian, was attacked by a group of heroin smugglers and suppliers, along with their associates, including the wife of one of the most wanted heroin smugglers, Massom Ali alias Kala. The attack resulted in severe head and bodily injuries to some police personnel, leading to the registration of a case (FIR No. 38/2023) under various sections of the IPC, including 307 (attempt to murder), 382, 353, 336, 332, 147, and 148. This marks the 9th arrest made by the Samba Police in connection with the attack on the police case. Earlier, eight accused were apprehended, and their custodial interrogations were conducted.
The arrest was executed by a police team led by SHO Police Station Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak, under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Rohit Kumar, and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. Under the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, the police continue to conduct raids at suspected hideouts of accused involved in attacks on police cases. The police are committed to ensuring that all the accused are brought to justice promptly.
