APS Damana celebrates Annual Day function - ‘Crescendo: The Cultural Fiesta’

Jammu, Dec 2: Army Public School Damana celebrated its resounding Annual Day on December 2, 2023, under the theme ‘Crescendo: The Cultural Fiesta.’ The School premises were adorned with grandeur and extravagance, hosting a colourful cultural program.
The Chief Guest for the momentous celebration was Maj Gen Gaurav Gautam, GOC Tiger Division & Patron APS Damana. Mrs Puja Gautam, Chairperson FWO Tiger Division, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Brig. Vivek Puri, Sena Medal, Commander Chenab Brigade & Chairman APS Damana, was the Special Guest, and Mrs Ghina Vivek Puri, Chairperson FWO Chenab Bde, was a Distinguished Guest.
The function commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest, Principal, and other dignitaries. The program featured a captivating Welcome Song by the School choir and an invocation of Lord Ganesha.
The cultural program, centered around the theme ‘Crescendo: The Cultural Fiesta,’ showcased multiple acts and dance performances highlighting India’s development since Independence. The performances emphasized unity and understanding among communities.
The Welcome dance by primary school students set the stage with warmth and happiness, creating a visual feast. A variety of performances, including dance-dramas, Mime, Skit, highlighted India’s Folk Dances, Languages, and Culture. The Annual School Report, presented by Principal Mrs Pushpinder Kaur, outlined the academic excellence achieved by the students and her vision for the School’s progress.
Over 1000 students participated in the spectacular performance, featuring warm rhythmic music, vibrant ethnic costumes, and dance and drama. Performances like ‘Cultural Bonanza’ and ‘Incredible India’ by the tiny tots left the audience spellbound. A Mime on ‘Tech Tango: Unveiling the consequences of Mobile Phone’ and a patriotic Qawwali by the school’s choir added to the enchantment.
The event also felicitated meritorious students of classes X and XII, Subject Toppers, and School Toppers in CBSE Board Examinations. Prizes and certificates were awarded to winners of Sports and Co-curricular activities.
The participants, including students and staff, showcased tremendous enthusiasm and cheerfulness, making the Annual Day Celebration a monumental success. The event concluded with a sense of patriotism resonating through the performances of the students.
