DB appoints commission in PIL regarding inadequate menstrual hygiene facilities

JAMMU, Dec 5: Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Chief Justice N Kotishwar Singh and Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi in order to get clear pictures of the situation prevailing in the Schools and Colleges in Jammu periphery areas about the conditions of Menstrual Health and Hygiene, we appoint a Commission consisting of the members namely Saba Atiq, Advocate, Anuja Barooah (Law interns) and Unnati Sharma(Law interns). DB further directed that the Commission so appointed will visit the schools and colleges of Jammu periphery areas and after doing the necessary visit will submit a report about the conditions of Menstrual Health and Hygiene of the said institutions as well as the various awareness programs being conducted by the Union Territory of J&K and Ladakh under the National Health Mission Scheme. DB further directed the Director of National Health Mission, Jammu will provide necessary conveyance to the Commission so constituted and will also pay Rs. 5000/- to each member of the Commission.
DB further ordered that after visiting the institutions of the Jammu periphery areas, the Commission will submit the report by or before 15. 12.2023.
