Jammu, Dec 7: In a bid to enlighten students about government initiatives in the agriculture and allied sectors, GDC Paloura recently conducted the Yuva Vani Awareness Program under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Ashu Vashisht, the college’s Principal.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Agriculture Department, featured a comprehensive exploration of various government schemes falling under the banner of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme. Vishal Sudan, Agriculture Officer, commenced the session with an insightful introduction.
Dr. Gauhar Ali took center stage, delivering a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting the diverse schemes available in the animal/sheep husbandry sector. The informative session extended to cover allied sectors such as Bee Keeping, Vermicompost units, High Tech greenhouses, Micro Food Processing, and Mushroom cultivation.
Expressing gratitude to the Agriculture Department, Principal Dr. Ashu Vashisht commended their efforts in orchestrating such impactful programs. She encouraged students to capitalize on startup schemes, fostering entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Sh. Kuldeep Raj, Chairman of the BDC. The event drew active participation from faculty members and students, who attended with keen interest and enthusiasm.
Dr. Chinmei Sharma and Prof. Kusha Sharma, as the coordinators, ensured the smooth execution of the entire program. The collaborative effort between GDC Paloura and the Agriculture Department not only disseminated valuable information but also empowered students with the knowledge and motivation to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in the agricultural domain. |
