Early Times Report
KATHUA, Dec 14: Mohammad Yasin, a resident of Block Bhoond in District Kathua, stands as a testament to the transformative impact of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme. His inspiring journey unfolded during the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra as part of the "Meri Kahani Meri Zubani" initiative, where he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government.
Yasin, once grappling with financial constraints, found solace and felt empowered through the job opportunity provided by MGNREGA. Through the scheme's focus on rural employment, he gained access to dignified work, enabling him to support his family and improve their standard of living.
During the yatra, Yasin shared how MGNREGA not only provided him with a source of income but also became a catalyst for positive change in his community. The scheme, with its emphasis on community development, allowed Yasin to actively participate in projects that enhanced local infrastructure, ensuring a sustainable and improved environment for all.
With the guaranteed employment offered by the scheme, Yasin actively participated in different projects contributing to the village's development. He and fellow villagers engaged in constructing roads, renovating community spaces, and establishing sustainable water conservation systems.
"Hundred days of assured employment were more than just work; these were days of empowerment and progress," Yasin emphasized. "We built roads that connected distant corners of our village, enhancing accessibility and fostering unity among us."
The impact of Yasin's efforts and the MGNREGA initiative went beyond mere infrastructural development. "Through this scheme, we didn't just build roads; we constructed pathways to a brighter future," he remarked, sharing how the collective efforts brought about a sense of pride and ownership among the villagers.
His story transcended the Yatra, inspiring policymakers and citizens alike to recognize the transformative potential of MGNREGA in fostering grassroots development and individual empowerment.
Mohammed Yasin's journey symbolized the spirit of perseverance, community-driven progress, and the catalytic role of initiatives like MGNREGA in shaping a promising future for villages like Panchayat Bhoond-a testament to the evolution toward a Viksit Bharat, a Developed India.
