DODA, Dec 18: To harness the untapped potential of adventure tourism in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Harvinder Singh, along with SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, on Monday inaugurated a river rafting event at Shibnote (Premnagar). The exciting initiative aims to draw adventure seekers and spotlight the region as a thrilling destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
Shibnote, nestled in Premnagar on banks of River Chenab, boasts a fast-flowing waterway and stunning natural beauty, making it an ideal spot for river rafting. The crystal-clear waters and captivating surroundings have been luring tourists from across the country. The newly introduced adventure rafting facility is set to tap into the area's untapped potential, contributing to the growth of tourism in the District.
Expressing optimism about the future of adventure tourism, DC Harvinder Singh conveyed gratitude to everyone involved in the tourism sector, especially in organising the Rafting adventure at Shibnote. He highlighted the vast scope for adventure sports activities in the district, emphasizing the district administration's commitment to promoting tourism. Singh revealed exciting plans for a mega winter carnival in Bhaderwah, organized by the district administration, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance tourism. As a precursor to the upcoming winter festival celebration, events like rafting in Shibnote are becoming integral to showcasing the district's adventure offerings. The inauguration marked a significant step towards positioning Premnagar as a hub for not only picturesque landscapes but also thrilling adventures.
