KATHUA, Dec 20: In line with the national initiative Viksit Bharat@2047, the Department of Environmental Sciences at Govt. Degree College Kathua organized an impactful exhibition titled "Wealth Out of Waste." The event, held under the guidance of Prof. Seema Mir, the esteemed Principal of the college, aimed to foster sustainability and environmental consciousness among students.
The "Wealth Out of Waste" activity aligns seamlessly with the national movement Viksit Bharat@2047, envisioning a holistic and sustainable India by the time it celebrates its 100th year of independence. The initiative reflects the college's commitment to nurturing a sense of responsibility towards the environment and promoting innovative solutions for waste management.
Approximately 40 students actively participated in the event, showcasing artistic creations crafted from recycled materials. The activity aimed to instill values such as preservation, recycling, reuse, and reduction in the young minds of students. Through this, the college seeks to empower students to play an active role in building a greener and cleaner future. Prof. Surbhi Gupta and Prof. Arvind Kumar from the Environmental Sciences faculty coordinated the event. Prof. Arvind Kumar briefed the students about the role of sustainability in the present scenario and encouraged each individual to contribute to this noble cause. Prof. Seema Mir appreciated the efforts of the students and urged them to register on www.mygov.in to share their ideas for Viksit Bharat.
