DIC unveils roadmap for Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojna implementation

KATHUA, Dec 20: District Industries Centre, Kathua has geared up for the seamless execution of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojna (PMVY) in the district.
Speaking to media persons here today, the DIC authorities shed light on the roadmap for realizing the expansive scope envisioned under the scheme. The briefing served as a platform to articulate the comprehensive roadmap devised by the district administration, aiming for the holistic and all-inclusive implementation of this transformative scheme with active participation from all stakeholders.
During the briefing, the General Manager, DIC Prem Singh Chib expounded upon the road ahead for the PMVY in Kathua. He emphasized the immense potential and opportunities the scheme offers for the upliftment and empowerment of artisans, entrepreneurs, and skilled individuals within the district.
"The PM Vishwakarma Yojna holds immense promise for the economic and social development of our region," stated the General Manager. "We have seen remarkable progress in laying the groundwork for the successful implementation of this scheme, which is aimed at enhancing the skills and livelihoods of our artisans and craftsmen."
Furthermore, the briefing outlined a strategic roadmap meticulously crafted by the district administration to ensure the saturation and comprehensive coverage of PMVY. This roadmap encapsulates a collaborative approach, encouraging the active involvement of all stakeholders including local artisans, industry representatives, and administrative bodies. The aim is to create an environment conducive to maximizing the benefits of this scheme for every eligible individual within the district.
The scheme offers collateral-free enterprise development loans of Rs 1 lakh (first tranche for 18 months repayment) and Rs 2 lakh (second tranche for 30 months repayment).
A concessional rate of interest of 5 per cent will be charged from the beneficiary with an interest subvention cap of 8 per cent to be paid by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises.
The General Manager underscored the importance of collective effort and engagement from all quarters to realize the full potential of PM Vishwakarma Yojna, which is aligned with the vision of empowering the skilled workforce and fostering economic growth at the grassroots level. In conclusion, he reiterated the commitment of the district administration to leave no stone unturned in ensuring the successful execution of PMVY, paving the way for an empowered and prosperous community.
Pertinently, the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, a visionary initiative by the government, focuses on fostering skill development and promoting entrepreneurship among artisans, craftsmen, and traditional workers. Under the scheme, various measures are undertaken to provide training, financial support, and market linkages to empower skilled workers and boost the growth of traditional industries engaged in 18 different trades to improve their socio-economic conditions.
