DC reviews progress of development works under R&B Sector

BARAMULLA, Dec 20: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish today chaired a meeting of officers to review the progress of works being executed under R&B Sector for the financial year 2023-24. The concerned officers of the R&B Department provided a comprehensive sector-wise overview of various projects, presenting detailed progress reports on the developmental works within the district.
On the occasion, Superintending Engineer R&B Baramulla appraised the chair with regard to progress of various works undertaken in the district under R&B Sector.
It was given out that a total of 129.49 Cr. of released budget under various district development project heads like District Capex, NABARD, ADF, SSY, etc, expenditure totaling 54.24 Cr. has been realized, while the rest of projects are in later stages of completion or tendered.
It was further highlighted that out of the targeted 364 kms of road under various developmental initiatives, 315 kms have been macadamized for the financial year. Similarly, in the other areas like Drain Work, R/B walls, Pipe Laying projects, major work has been completed.
During the meeting, the DDC directed the officers present to meet the developmental targets set for the financial year 2023-24 within the allocated timeframe and ensure maximum realization of expenditure by the end of December.
Dr. Sehrish also directed the revenue department to assist R&B in resolving any bottlenecks related to land issues, tree cutting, and other matters that might impede the progress of development initiatives.
Superintending Engineer R&B Baramulla, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Director Planning, and Executive Engineers from different divisions were present in the meeting.
