KISHTWAR, Dec 20: The Department of Handicrafts & Handloom Kishtwar today organized an awareness camp at Panchayat Gahan, Sarthal Kishtwar.
The Camp was attended by a large gathering along with Sarpanch Gahan, Vishwa Pratap Singh and other PRI members of the Panchayat.
The Department of Handicrafts & Handloom, apprised the local gathering of all the schemes of the Department viz a viz Training Program, Credit Card scheme, Registration of Cooperatives , Registration of Artisans/ Weavers , Karkhandar scheme, Education scheme and several other schemes implemented by the Department. Special focus was laid on Wheatstraw Craft and Kishtwari Loie Weaving which are still in practise in the area.
The public evinced a keen interest in the schemes of the Department and put up a whole lot of queries, which were replied to by the Officials of the Department.
People were also made aware about the online services of the Department. The Local CSC center was also conditioned about the process of applying for e-services of the Department for hassle-free services.
At the end, the Sarpanch, besides other PRI members, thanked the Department of Handicrafts & Handloom for organizing the Camp and requested to time and again organize such camps in the area, so that all the Local Artisans/Weavers can be benefited by the schemes of the Department. |
