| Dogri Manyata Diwas celebrated at GDC Ghagwal | | |

JAMMU, Dec 22: Under the patronage of madam Principal, Dr. Sujata Slathia a series of events were organised at GDC Ghagwal to mark the Dogri Manyata Diwas. The Head of the Department of Dogri, Dr. Bavita Kumari and her colleague Dr. Kamlesh organised a poetry recitation competition, a dance on dogri folk song and a documentary screening on the importance of the language.
For the amelioration of the students and staff, a poetry recitation competition was organised on the topic 'Mere Sapno ka Bharat' by Harvinder Kour and Dr. Kajal. On the occasion of 'Dogri Manyata Diwas', the free spirited students articulated their thoughts about India of their dreams in their mother tongue- Dogri. A Dogri dance depicting the fervour of the culture was performed by girl students of semester I. In the end a documentary was screened that encapsulated the importance of the language in present times. The event culminated with a speech by Dr. Bavita and Dr. Kamlesh. |
