BLSKS Mounts three-day awareness campaign on pollution in Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 29: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production, organized a three-day special awareness campaign on pollution at Durga Bhawan, Janipur Jammu. The campaign aimed to promote the traditional culture of Jammu and Kashmir and raise awareness about the detrimental effects of pollution on the environment.
The highlight of the event was the 396th Friday Series Musical Concert titled "Pardushan Hatao Jan Bachao," focusing on improving pollution awareness and urging governments to adjust policies for reducing pollution's impact. The program was inaugurated by V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and Mukesh Singh, Media Person of the Shadow Newspaper & Former Chief Medical Officer, Jammu and Kashmir Government. Dr. Tara Singh Charak presided over the function.
Special items were prepared on themes such as "Pardushan Cha Bacho," "Chara Da Bukhar - Roko Roko Pardushan Gi Roko," and "Aaj kal di Hawa Badi Kharab." Skits, songs, and dances were presented to create awareness among the masses about the impact of pollution.
V.K. Magotra emphasized the role of communication in reducing the adverse effects of air pollution. Pollution prevention was highlighted as a means to protect the environment by conserving natural resources and promoting economic growth through efficient production.
During the month, BLSKS plans to organize two more shows in Manwal, Arnia Villages, and Blocks of Jammu District to further raise awareness among the public. Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman of BLSKS, emphasized the importance of public awareness in preventing environmental degradation. He stressed the need to mobilize the masses to take action when government policies fall short.
The musical play, featuring singers, musicians, actors, and students from music and computer institutes, showcased the talents of M. Ckotwal, Usha Raina, Rajni Gupta, Chahat Chadha, Kuldeep Raj, Sanjeev Kumar, Rajeev Salotra, Renu Bala, and many others.
