SSP Traffic Police rural Jammu urges vigilance amid dense fog for safe driving

JAMMU, Dec 29: In the wake of persistent dense fog affecting road visibility, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, Vinay Kumar, issues a crucial advisory to the public, particularly motorists and vehicle operators. The advisory emphasizes adherence to traffic instructions and safety precautions to mitigate fatal and non-fatal accidents during foggy conditions.
Installation of Signages and Reflectors: SSP Traffic Rural Jammu informs that Traffic Police, in collaboration with NHAI, has strategically placed signages and reflectors along NHW from Lakhanpur to Bari Brahmana. This initiative aims to guide road commuters and reduce accidents in foggy conditions. The implementation was carried out under the supervision of DIG Traffic Range Rural Jammu, Shri Shridhar Patil, IPS.
Safety Measures for Drivers: Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution while driving in foggy conditions. Recommendations include navigating roads carefully, following signages, refraining from overtaking, maintaining proper lane discipline, and using low beam headlights instead of high beam.
Fog Lights and Speed Control: During foggy conditions, vehicle operators are urged to keep fog lights on and maintain a sensible speed range. Ensuring a safe gap between vehicles is crucial to preventing collisions and safeguarding human lives.
