| Court reject bail of inter-state narco smuggler | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 2: Additional Sessions Judge Samba Adnan Syeed rejected the bail application of king-pin of inter-state narco smuggler namely Sarabjit Kour.
According to the prosecution case that that on 8.9.2023 the officer of NCB Jammu has recovered 0.840 gram heroin from the possession of the accused namely Skinder Singh and others at Raya Morh Samba and arrested the accused under section 8/21/29 NDPS Act. During investigation and examination of accused Rajveer Kaur revealed that during her statement disclosed that the seized contraband was provided by Sarabjit Kour @ Shaboo to accused persons and further Sarabjit Kour being an owner of the house have permits the commission of offence and is the main kingpin of the smuggling gang of interstate smuggling of heroin from Punjab to Jammu; that as per the call details of the accused ,it is established that Sarabjit Kour is in continuously in touch with accused Rajveer Kour, Maninder Singh and other drugs associates and was arrested on 28.09.2023 in the above said case; that the case is under investigation and accused arrested by the NCB mentioned herein falls under commercial quantity; that the accused is involved in a very heinous crime against the society and public at large and particularly indulging young generation in addiction to all this.
Additional Sessions Judge Samba Adnan Syeed while rejecting the bail application, observed that the menace of trade and use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance has become alarming to society in general and young generation in particular. This menace requires to be curbed with a heavy hand as it is eating into vitals of the society. —JNF |
