BLSKSS celebrates “World Braille Day”

JAMMU, Jan 5: As routine of every year celebrates the 215th birthday century of "World Renowned Personality Louis Braille" , to promote the Duggar traditional cultural of J&K , Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sangeet Sansthan staged 397th Tuesday Series Musical Play " Netardan Maha Dan", on the theme "Sight without seeing" today in close coordination with Sangam tru art Production at Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu. The programe was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department,J&K Government, V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, Dr. Anju Dogra, Health Department, J&K Government , R.P. Amla Former Field Publicity Assistant of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India & Vinod Dogra Chief Service Engineer, Excide were the guest of honor. The chief guest said Braille is a tactile representation of alphabetic and numerical symbols using six dots to represent each letter and number, and even musical, mathematical and scientific symbols. Braille is used by blind and partially sighted people to read the same books and periodicals as those printed in a visual font and lauded the role of BLSKS in creating awareness on the subject by staging colorful cultural programs comprising of skits / dances /songs etc & also urged the artists/cultural organizations to contribute in enriching of the cultural heritage of the country and inspiring the younger generation to follow the footprints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the Nation. Songs were written by Dr. M.L. Dogra (Chairman BLSKS). The song sung by the artist like " Netardan Maha dan" , "Yeh Din Bar Bar Aye", "Jammu Sara Dogreden Da Shehar", and folk songs dances and skits were presented and enthralled the audience by singing a melodious Songs. The music was the play assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor BLSKS. The songs were also recorded and uploaded on social media to aware the masses in public interest.
