Police apprehends three criminals in attempted murder case seizes weapons, bike

SAMBA, Jan 5: In a significant breakthrough, the Samba Police have successfully arrested three individuals involved in an attempted murder case near 17 Miles. The apprehended suspects are identified as Rahul Kumar, Sourav Slathia alias Koushal Slathia, and Vishal Singh, all residents of different areas in the Samba district.
The incident in question occurred on December 30, 2023, when Devinder Singh, a resident of Pekhri, Vijaypur, was attacked with sharp-edged weapons near 17 Miles, Vijaypur. Promptly, the police registered an attempt to murder case (FIR No. 191/2023) under sections 307, 323, 341, 34 IPC, and 4/25 Arms Act at the Vijaypur Police Station, initiating a thorough investigation.
The investigative efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of the three accused individuals. Rahul Kumar, Sourav Slathia, and Vishal Singh were taken into custody, and further search operations resulted in the seizure of a bike (bearing registration number JK21H-3360) used during the commission of the crime. Additionally, two weapons of offence, including one 'Toka' and one 'Darat,' were confiscated in the presence of an Executive Magistrate 1st Class based on the information provided by the arrested suspects.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, commended the dedicated efforts of the police force in swiftly resolving the case. He emphasized the commitment of Samba Police to apprehend criminals involved in heinous crimes in the district, conducting thorough investigations to ensure convictions. Over the past eleven and a half months, Samba Police have successfully arrested a total of one hundred sixty-seven hardcore criminals, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
