Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 5: In a remarkable display of devotion, Lord Shri Ram's followers in Jammu and Kashmir are undeterred by harsh weather conditions as they distribute 'Akshat' - worshipped rice mixed with turmeric and ghee - ahead of the scheduled consecration of the Shri Ram Ji Temple on January 22, 2024.
Raman Suri, Executive Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jammu & Kashmir, highlighted the dedication of the devotees, emphasizing that the distribution drive, initiated from Ayodhya, is ongoing despite the challenging climate. The 'Akshat' is being distributed nationwide, with special significance given to Jammu & Kashmir, where devotees are considered fortunate to receive the pious offering.
The distribution campaign, launched from Ayodhya, commenced under the guidance of the General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai Ji, along with support from Vishva Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteers. The campaign involves distributing paper pouches containing 'Akshat,' an image of the Shri Ram Ji Temple, and informative pamphlets detailing the temple complex.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the Vishva Hindu Parishad's local unit initiated the distribution drive from Jammu. A significant event was organized at the Ved Mandir ground in Jammu, emphasizing the importance of 'Akshat,' where 'Akshat Kalash' was handed over to designated individuals for further distribution.
