JU Women's Chess team heads to Bundelkhand University for North-Zone Inter-University Tournament

JAMMU, Jan 5: The University of Jammu's Women's Chess team is gearing up for the North-Zone Inter-University Chess Tournament 2023-24, scheduled to take place at the Rajeev Gandhi Indoor Stadium of Bundelkhand University, Jhansi (U.P.) from 8th to 10th January 2024. The team, led by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, was ceremoniously flagged off from the university premises on January 5, 2024.
The Jammu University Chess (W) Team comprises the following members: Bhawana Sharma, Taruni Bakshi, Unvesha Sharma, Naina Sharma, Mansha Mahajan and Mussarit Nayeem
Accompanying the team are Inderjeet Singh as the coach and Manisha Manhas as the manager.
The tournament, hosted by Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, is a significant platform for university-level chess competitions, bringing together teams from across the North Zone. The Jammu University team is set to showcase their strategic prowess and compete against other universities in this prestigious event.
Prominent figures present at the flag-off ceremony included Dr. Vimal Kishore, S. Padam Dev Singh, Jai Bharat, Harinderpal Singh, and Manu Singh Pawar, all extending their best wishes to the team for a successful and spirited participation in the upcoming chess tournament.
