Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 5: A deputation comprising Principals selected by the Public Service Commission, Jammu and Kashmir UT, representing the Higher Education Department, met with Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta and discussed the issues being faced by them.
During the meeting, the selected Principals highlighted the fact that despite meeting all the criteria laid down by the Selection Committee of JKPSC, they are still awaiting their placements. The aggrieved individuals emphasized that there are 19 vacant positions in Government Degree Colleges across Jammu and Kashmir UT, which can be readily filled by these qualified Selectees. Furthermore, with continuous retirements, additional vacancies are expected to arise.
The Principals proposed the extension of the validity of the selection list for six months or until all Selectees are fairly adjusted into the available positions. This, they believe, will ensure that the deserving candidates are not left in a state of uncertainty.
Kavinder Gupta attentively listened to the genuine grievances presented by the deputation and assured them that he would take up the matter at an appropriate level to seek a resolution.
The former deputy Chief Minister also contacted the Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department telephonically, urging swift and considerate steps to address the genuine demands of the aggrieved Principals.
The Principals expressed their gratitude to Senior BJP leader for his receptive approach and commitment to addressing their concerns. They remained hopeful that with his intervention, a fair and timely resolution will be achieved, allowing them to contribute effectively to the higher education system in Jammu and Kashmir UT.
