Early Times Report
PAHALGAM, Jan 8: Residents of Ganeshpora Pahalgam in Kashmir convened to restructure their community representation. The dissolution of the previous body paved the way for the election of a new governing body, reflecting the collective aspirations of the community. The newly elected body is composed of: President: Sanjay Pandit, Vice President: Ashish Bhat, General Secretary: Susheel Bhat, Cashier: Bantoo Ji and Member: Vickey Bhat A substantial turnout marked the meeting, with the community addressing various issues pertinent to Ganeshpora and its residents. Foremost among these concerns is the urgent need for a bridge over Lider Nallha, located opposite the Ganeshbal temple near the base camp of Shri Amarnath Ji Pahalgam. The community expressed the desire for improved infrastructure to facilitate the smooth passage of Shri Amarnath Ji yatris and locals, enabling them to pay their respects at the ancient Ganeshbal temple. During the discussions, the residents emphasized the necessity of safeguarding the Sabha's properties in Ganeshpora, including the temple premises, Dharmshall land, and the cremation ground. The community urged the government to take measures to remove encroachments in the cremation ground, underscoring the importance of preserving sacred spaces. The Sabha concluded the meeting by formally requesting the government's assistance in these matters and pledged to continue working towards the betterment of Ganeshpora. Additionally, the community announced plans for a HAWAN on GANESH CHATURDASHI at the historical temple in GANESHBAL, an event scheduled to take place later this year.
