VBSY: Commissioner Food & Drug Department presides over Awareness program at Sumbal

BANDIPORA, Jan 11: As part of the nationwide Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), Commissioner Food and Drug Department Jammu & Kashmir, Hashmat Ali Yatoo addressed a mega awareness programme at Dak Banglow Sumbal on Thursday.
Yatoo, accompanied by senior officers from district administration, including ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Bhat, SDM Sumbal, engaged with a large audience of local residents, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
The program was organised to empower citizens with vital information regarding centrally sponsored schemes and ways to reap benefits from them.
On the occasion, Information, Education and Communication Van displayed information regarding various centrally sponsored schemes and procedures to avail benefits from such schemes.
In his address, Yatoo emphasized the importance of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in bridging the gap between the government and the people. He highlighted the commitment of the government to ensure access to government services for all citizens, especially in rural areas.
Yatoo stated that public awareness is crucial for effective implementation of different welfare schemes. He said that through initiatives like Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, the government aims to equip citizens with the knowledge and tools to make informed choices and actively participate in building a developed society.
Nodal officer IEC Van and publicity, Bilal Ahmad Mir, who is also DIO/ARTO Bandipora apprised the chair that yatra has already reached all 151 gram panchayats of district Bandipora, besides all 43 Urban Local Bodies were also covered during the yatra. He further informed that VBSY continues across all the panchayats and ULBs within the district.
The event also witnessed the distribution of informative pamphlets and booklets regarding various centrally sponsored schemes. Medical camps were set up to provide free health checkups and consultations to the attendees.
