Col Mahan commemorates Swami Vivekananda’s Birth Anniversary

Basohli, Jan 13: Mahan Singh, District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, actively participated in the annual celebration of Vishawsthali Basohli. The vibrant event, held at TRC Basohli, brought together numerous schools from across Kathua and local artists/artisans to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
The colorful function witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Darshan Thakur, BJP Pahadi Zila President, Prem Sagar Aziz, Ex Minister & Senior BJP Leader, DIG Shakti Pathak, founder & convenor of Vishawsthali, and others.
Sanjiv Verma, Principal Secretary GAD, J&K UT, graced the day-long event as the Chief Guest in the late evening. He contributed to the festivities by distributing prizes to the enthusiastic participants, further emphasizing the commitment to recognizing and encouraging talent in the region.
The Principal Secretary also paid heartfelt tribute to the teachings and legacy of Swami Vivekananda during a special event commemorating the spiritual leader’s birth anniversary. He emphasized the timeless relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings that continue to inspire generations. He spoke passionately about the need to imbibe Vivekananda’s principles of spirituality, tolerance, and service to humanity in today’s fast-paced world.
Col Mahan Singh, DDC Chairman Kathua, highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s profound impact on fostering a sense of national pride and unity, underscoring the importance of incorporating these values into contemporary life. He urged the youth to follow the enlightened path laid out by the revered spiritual leader.
