Jammu, Jan 13: On the occasion of Lohri festival, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Jammu South Rekha Mahajan, extended greetings to the general public of Jammu South and prayed for everyone’s happiness, good health and prosperity. She wished people on Lohri, a popular winter folk festival celebrated in the northern region of the country. In a message, Rekha Mahajan said that the Lohri festival is a tribute to the bounties of nature and marks the change in weather moving towards spring. She prayed for the well-being and happiness of the people, prosperity, peace, and development in the state as well as in the country.
Rekha Mahajan also extended his greetings on the eve of Makar Sankranti. Also known as the festival of kites, she said that Makar Sankranti is celebrated to commemorate the upcoming harvest season. Makar Sankranti is observed to pay homage and thank the Sun God, Surya for blessing the harvest with useful and effective resources, Rekha added.
Rekha Mahajan, while extending the greetings of the Lohri festival to everybody, especially to the residents of J&K, prayed for the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir. She said that the festival depicts a profound love of nature, plentiful reap, and humans and also marks the realm of activeness among all living creatures.
Rekha said that the auspicious event of Lohri corresponds with the beginning of ‘Magh’ month, which initiates only a day after Lohri indicating the finish of cruel winter, she added and extended the message of Universal Peace and Love to all. |
