Cong on crossroads, youth leaders quitting ‘grand old party’

Jammu, Jan 14: Realizing that their future is bleak in the party, one after another youth leaders are quitting the Congress party.
The Latest in this series is former Union Minister Milind Deora who joined the Shiv Sena on Sunday in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde after quitting the Congress earlier in the day.
The former South Mumbai Lok Sabha MP joined the ruling party in a function in Varsha, the official residence of the chief minister, in the afternoon.
In a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Deora had earlier announced his resignation from the Congress.

Youth leaders who quit recently
> Former Union Minister RPN Singh left Congress and joined the BJP in January 2022.
> Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned from Congress in 2020. He left Congress and joined the BJP.
> Jitin Prasad was considered very close to Rahul Gandhi. He left Congress in the year 2021. After this, he also joined BJP.
> Former Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor had left the party in July 2019, a few days later, he joined the BJP.
> Gujarat's Patidar leader Hardik Patel left Congress in May 2022. Rahul Gandhi brought Hardik to the party in 2019. After his resignation letter, he joined the BJP.
> Anil Antony, son of veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister AK Antony, had left the party in January 2023 and joined BJP the next month.
