SSP Railways Jammu conducts security review meeting ahead of R-Day

JAMMU, Jan 15: In anticipation of the upcoming Republic Day 2024, Mohan Lal Kaith, SSP Railways Jammu, led a security review meeting at his office. The meeting, attended by key officials including Smt. Albeena Malik, SDPO Railways Jammu, Naresh Kumar, SDPO Railways Vijaypur, Inspr. Niaz Ahmed, SHO PS GRP Jammu, Inspr. Ajay Kumar, SHO PS GRP Kathua, Chetan Singh, SHO RPFJAT, and all IC PPs of GRP Jammu, aimed to assess the security preparedness in light of the current security scenario and the upcoming Republic Day.
SSP Railways Jammu emphasized the need to enhance on-ground security measures and urged for increased vigilance in light of the prevailing situation and the approaching Republic Day. Joint patrolling by officials of GRP and RPF was stressed upon as a means to ensure effectiveness, a proposal agreed upon by the RPF officials present.
The meeting highlighted the importance of maximizing the use of security equipment installed at railway stations and thorough frisking of visitors to eliminate any potential acts of sabotage. SSP Kaith directed all SHOs and I/C PPs to personally conduct regular checks, especially during night hours, to ensure the implementation of security measures. SDPOs were instructed to oversee and monitor the performance of officers and personnel, with any lapses promptly reported to the SSP for necessary action against the erring officials.
The meeting also included a comprehensive review of intelligence inputs, emphasizing the need for heightened alertness to prevent any untoward incidents in connection with the Republic Day function scheduled for January 26. The collaborative efforts and strategic planning outlined in the meeting reflect the commitment of the railway security personnel in ensuring a safe and secure environment during the national celebration.
