SK Sports Club organizes HIV/AIDS awareness camp

JAMMU, Jan 17: In collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir AIDS Control Society, the Shere-Kashmir Sports Club, Jammu, spearheaded an impactful awareness camp today at Kalluchak and Ratnochak, Jammu. The camp aimed to disseminate vital information about HIV/AIDS, voluntary blood donation, and drug de-addiction, with a particular focus on engaging the youth in the age group of 18-35 years. Rajinder Singh, the resource person, inaugurated the camp, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the guidelines laid out by the National AIDS Control Organization and Jammu and Kashmir AIDS Control Society for the effective prevention, treatment, and control of HIV/AIDS. He urged the youth to stay away from drug abuse and injected drugs, highlighting the potential risks associated with such behaviors.
During the camp, discussions focused on the high-risk groups within communities, shedding light on the topography of those most vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. Various speakers highlighted the significance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged the youth to actively participate in this noble cause. Notable attendees at the camp included Anil Sharma, Manoj Kumar, Vicky, Altaf, Fayaz Ahmed, Noor Ali, Rashpaul, Rahul Kumar, Sahil, Nirmal Singh, Jasbir Singh, Lucky, Pumma, Suresh, and others. The active participation of the youth demonstrated a keen interest in promoting awareness and engaging in initiatives that contribute to the well-being of the community.
