Early Times Report
REASI, Jan 17: Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, orchestrated a captivating event, 'Gramalok,' at Pouni district in Reasi, featuring the poetic prowess of six local poets. The program aimed to provide a platform for talented poets who, despite their significant contributions to the field, often lack opportunities to showcase their skills.
The event witnessed the participation of Daram Pal, Mohinder Das, Kasturi Lal, Sanjeev Sharma, K.C. Sharma, and Gopal Krishan Komal, who captivated the audience with their marvelous poems. Additionally, eminent writers from Dogri, including Puran Chander Sharma, Inderjeet Kesar, Randhir Singh Raipuria, and Rakesh Verma, graced the occasion with their compositions.
Mohan Singh, the convener of the Dogri Advisory Board at Sahitya Akademi, presided over the event and shed light on Sahitya Akademi's nationwide initiatives and its commitment to the development of recognized languages, including Dogri. He emphasized that 'Gramalok' is a significant part of this commitment, designed to showcase and uplift the talents of poets who might otherwise miss out on opportunities.
The program not only provided a stage for local poets but also fostered cultural exchange as guests from Jammu added to the event's charm with their literary contributions. Sahitya Akademi's 'Gramalok' stands as a commendable initiative to celebrate and promote linguistic diversity and poetic expression in the country.
