JAMMU, Jan 19: Ajay Kumar Bakaya, the Managing Director of Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, a leading hospitality company with a significant presence in India and abroad, recently visited the Food Crafts Institute in Jagti, Jammu. The institute, which plays a crucial role in training youth for the hospitality sector, received Bakaya along with Rakesh Wazir, President of the Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra.
During the visit, Jyoti Bhatti, the Principal of the institute, showcased the facilities and briefed the guests on the institute's activities. Bakaya expressed his appreciation for the institute's infrastructure and inquired about the various diploma courses offered in Hotel Management.
Emphasizing the importance of practical exposure for students, Bakaya highlighted the timeless significance of proficient general management skills in the hospitality industry. He stated, "In this industry, the true arbiters of success remain astute and efficient General Managers who continue to navigate this industry with poise and grace, regardless of the digital tsunami that has swept over us."
Addressing the students, Bakaya provided insights into India's vibrant hospitality industry and the global demand for skilled manpower. He assured the students that Sarovar Hotels & Resorts would make efforts to absorb talented individuals from the institute.
Rakesh Wazir commended the institute's efforts in skill development for the hospitality sector and stressed the quality of trained manpower required in the growing tourism scenario in the region. He highlighted the abundant employment opportunities in the hotel industry, especially in Jammu & Kashmir, known for its tourism potential.
Both Wazir and Bakaya pledged their full support for the students' industrial training and placement. They encouraged the institute's management to explore campus placement processes more frequently, facilitating direct recruitment by industry giants.
Jyoti Bhatti, the institute's Principal, briefed the dignitaries on the curriculum aligned with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) guidelines. Expressing gratitude, she thanked them for their visit and support towards the institute's mission of shaping skilled professionals for the dynamic hospitality sector.
